ENGINEERING VS PRODUCTION
Engineering is the capture: microphones, signal flow, recording, editing and technical decisions. Production is the bigger picture: arrangement, performance, sound, structure and tone. They often happen together.
SESSION PLAYERS
Players can be brought in when the song calls for them: drums, bass, guitar, keys, strings, horns, vocals and more.
CO-WRITING
If the song is not finished, that is fine. Development can happen in the room from a hook or rough demo through arrangement and production.
